Welcome to Dominican Convent Higher Secondary School

From the Principal’s Desk

“The mission of school and teacher is to develop an understanding of all that is true, good, and beautiful.”

Today marks a significant milestone in the history of our beloved Dominican Convent School as we blissfully celebrate our 66th Foundation Day. Sixty-six years ago, our school embarked on a journey fueled by a vision of academic excellence, character building, and community spirit. Over the years, we have grown, advanced, and succeeded, thanks to our school community's commitment, passion, and unwavering support.

I hope all our families are well. We are thrilled to extend a warm greeting to all new students and parents joining the Dominican Convent School community. As we conclude the first few weeks of the new academic year, I want to share some updates and reflections with you.

First, I express my sincere gratitude for your continuing support and partnership in your child's educational journey. Your involvement is vital in creating a constructive and nurturing learning environment for our students.

Over the past month, our school community has been bustling with activities. Students have established their schedules, teachers have been attentively delivering engaging lessons, and our extracurricular events have kicked off with enthusiasm. It's been truly exciting to witness the commitment and passion demonstrated by both students and teachers.

As we move forward, I encourage you to continue to stay actively involved in your child's education. Attend parent-teacher meetings, participate in discussions about their academic advancement, and support their involvement in extracurricular activities. Your support not only strengthens our school community but also reinforces the importance of education in your child's life. Together, we can work towards creating a positive and inspiring learning experience for your child. Your input and support are invaluable in helping us reach our shared goal of academic achievement for every student.

Additionally, I want to remind you of the importance of open communication. If you have any queries, concerns, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me, Sr. Zubeda Tarcis, or concerned teachers. We are here to support you and your child in any way we can.

We have an exciting range of events lined up for the coming months. From educational competitions to cultural celebrations, there will be many opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and prosper.

I would like to remind you that the school discourages private tuition; therefore, I recommend that we help, guide, and provide support to our students in their studies as a team. If you engage a school teacher to tutor your child outside of school, please inform us.

The first term exams will start on May 27, and the result will be on June 15th. The summer assignments will be posted on our website and will also be shared on WhatsApp on June 14. In case students or parents need any clarification, they could meet with teachers on the result day.

Once again, I want to thank you for trusting us with your children’s education. Together, we will continue to foster a caring and enriching learning environment that enables every student to reach their full potential.

Peace!
